In the Presence of Healers
Paul Cox is an ethno-botanist who has dedicated his life to the study of the plants and people of tropical rain forests. Working with native women healers of Samoa, he discovers they have treated Yellow Fever with the wood of a tree. He takes the wood to the National Cancer Institute and discovers it kills the HIV virus. This film is not only about this discovery, but also Cox’s connection between plants, people, God and family.
