Overview
The 29th Annual Heartland International Film Festival ran October 8-18, 2020. This year’s Festival was unlike anything we have ever experienced before. Due to health concerns around COVID-19, we moved the Festival to a hybrid model with virtual and drive-in screening!
#HIFF29 included 29 screenings at Tibbs Drive-In Theatre, 18 live virtual Q&As with 111 filmmakers Zooming in from all over the world and 11-days of festival films on-demand. We even had a Drive-Thru Red “Car”pet which allowed people to safely be a part of the Festival activities.
This year’s theme was the Full Spectrum of Film to celebrate the diverse genres, stories and perspectives showcased throughout the Festival!
Heartland Film also presented a preview of Cultural Journey Israel during the Festival and the 3nd Annual Indy Shorts International Film Festival in the summer of 2020.
